Netflix UK top 5 new releases

Netflix UK top 5 new releases November

Netflix is a streaming service that encourages binge-watching and serious addiction. To keep everyone in the never-ending loop, it adds a few novelties every month. Things stay exciting that way. November might be one of the quieter Netflix months, but there are a few gems in here that might just make your crisp, autumn days better. So: what’s our pick this November?

1. Spider-Man: Into the Spider-verse

For the superhero fans out there, this is as good as superhero animation gets. Set in a parallel-universe New York City, this Academy Award-winning animation tells the story of young Miles Morales. After the tragic death of the parallel universe’s Peter Parker, Morales aspires to become the new Spider-Man. Joined by Spider heroes from other dimensions, will he save the Multiverse?

2. The Liberator, Season 1

Another animated suggestion. The Liberator is a war drama miniseries taking place during World War II. The story is focused on Felix “The Shotgun” Sparks and his battalion of “Thunderbirds”. For over 500 days, they led an operation to liberate the Dachau concentration camp. Created using the new Trioscope technology, The Liberator combines CGI with live-action performance for a true cinematic marvel.

3. Dash & Lily, Season 1

If you’re ready to say Yes to a holiday-themed series already in November, here’s a serious contender. Dash & Lily is an 8-episode romantic comedy. The series tells the story of Dash and Lily who exchange notes inside books and send each other to dares and adventures, sparking a cosy romance before even meeting in person. A wonderfully developed story to get you in a romantic winter mood. For maximum enjoyment sit back, relax, and don’t dive too deeply in the plot details.

4. The Crown, Season 4

The long-awaited season which portrays Lady Diana’s appearance in the Royal Family is coming this month. Covering the period between 1977 and 1990, the fourth season of The Crown also introduces Margaret Thatcher (Gillian Anderson), Prince WIlliam and Prince Harry. As has become a tradition, the new season takes dramatic license in its depiction of royal history. So, don’t go scrutinising the historical details. Instead, prepare to enjoy some wonderful acting. Most notably, Gillian Anderson’s portrayal of Margaret Thatcher has been called “the only convincing performance [...] of Mrs. Thatcher as prime minister”. Well worth a November afternoon (or two).

5. We Are the Champions, Season 1

You know how they say reality is better than any fiction? The new Netflix reality series We Are The Champions is the proof. It tells the stories of real champions in the most unusual of competitions worldwide, including chili eating, cheese rolling, and fantasy hairstyling. If you thought you’d seen it all and heard it all, prepare to be surprised. We Are The Champions will be released on 17 November 2020.
