Steps to cancel your EE contract

EE offers different ways to cancel, depending on whether you’re taking your number with you to another provider or cancelling it along with your plan. Before you start, check whether you’re within your minimum contract term, as leaving early may cost extra.

Method 1: Cancel your EE contract and your number

  1. Dial 150 from your EE phone, or 07953 966 250 from any other phone.
  2. Choose the correct option from the voice menu.
  3. Confirm your details and request cancellation.

Method 2: Cancel your EE contract and take your number with you

If you want to move to another network and keep your number, you’ll need to use a PAC code. The PAC code cancels your EE contract automatically once your number transfers to your new provider. To get a PAC code:
  1. Text PAC to 65075 (free).
  2. Provide the code to your new provider.
  3. Your EE contract will end once the number switches.
Whichever cancellation method above you choose, you’ll receive your final bill within 14 days of your contract cancellation. You’ll be able to see the final bill in your EE account by navigating to Menu >> Bills & Payments >> Your last bill

What to know before cancelling

Cancelling EE can involve fees or notice requirements. The following tips help you be prepared in advance and avoid surprises:
  • Double-check your notice period
EE usually requires a 30-day notice period for cancellations. Your contract will remain active (and you’ll be charged) during this time.
  • Double-check your minimum contract term
Depending on your plan, you may have a minimum contract term – e.g., 12 or 24 months. If you cancel before this term, you’ll still be charged until the end of the term.
  • Consider your device
If you have an EE plan that includes a device, cancelling your contract does not cancel your device repayments. You’ll need to continue paying for the device monthly, or settle the remaining balance in full with your final bill.

Cancelling is easy (but do the prep well)

Cancelling your EE contract doesn’t need to be stressful. By choosing the right cancellation method and double-checking your notice period and minimum contact term, you can leave smoothly and avoid unnecessary charges. With the steps and tips we’re sharing here, you’ll be well-equipped for a successful cancellation.
