- Kickoff Rush – EA have rebalanced long lofted passes in Head to Head matches to more accurately mirror the success of these long balls. There’s still a possibility to catch defenders on the back foot (if there’s a mismatch of speed between the centre back and striker, and if the ball is played by a highly-rated passer).
- Through Passes – to encourage more strategic decision making and give defenders more time to react, Mid and Long Distance Lofted Through Passes now have a longer travel time. The accuracy will be based on the player's Long Passing attribute, and dictated by how far and high the pass is.
- Crossing – accuracy will be heavily influenced by player attributes and the defensive pressure on the crosser.
- Headers – aerial battles now prioritise physical attributes, positioning and timing to give more realistic outcomes. They also take into account the strengths of the player contesting the header.
- Referee Logic – Referees have been fine-tuned so that they won’t automatically call light collisions as fouls.
